Garden

Little Cherubs has an extensive, safe and secure outside play area, which is used for traditional play as well as an outside “classroom”. We have 3 separate, defined areas, which enables the whole nursery to utilise the wonderfully equipped outdoor areas at the same time.

The Covered, Heated, and Safety Tiled Area

Our babies who are crawling, or just beginning to walk are extremely safe in this outside area and with it being dry and heated, it is used all year round to ensure all our babies are outside every day.

Outside Classroom

All of our children are treated as an individual, and it is important that if a child develops better in an outside environment, they are provided with a safe, bright and stimulating area to reach their full potential.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and ensure that the full curriculum is available both inside and out.

The curriculum is split into different areas of learning and our outside classroom has the main areas built-in to ensure they are always available for our children to develop and use their imagination at all times.

Water Play

Built In Sandpit

The Play House provides role play opportunities on the upstairs floor and a quiet area below, which extends our wig-wam area that provides a space for children to break out and spend some quiet time away from the hustle of nursery life.

Woodland Area

We have a further area that provides lots of opportunities for children to run, jump, climb and slide to ensure their large muscles and co-ordination develop. This is a hugely important part of each child's development as it allows children to move on and master the fine motor skills and most importantly, writing. Children have the opportunity to master the walkway which encourages balance, while providing a carefully thought out handle system which allows risk in a controlled environment. Slides are an important part of the area, as well as climbing opportunities to allow children to explore and push their personal boundaries. We have also ensured we have incorporated a quiet/investigation area along with a role-play, or imaginative area to ensure other areas of the curriculum are met. Our wonderful tree house provides all of these areas and our wooden train becomes a bus, aeroplane or motorbike depending on the children's mood!

We also have our own mini allotments where the children grow their own fruit and vegetables.
